I’ve Been Running a Business for Four Years and Barely Showed Up Online. Here’s Why That Changes Now.

You wanna know a secret?
I absolutely LOVE creating content for my clients. Newsletters. Blogs. Social content. Websites. All.the.things. It’s my favorite.
But that’s not the secret.
Indie Edge has existed for almost four years and you know how many newsletters I’ve sent out? Two. I’ve posted eight blogs — two of them were essays I wrote prior.
Here’s the secret: I think I have nothing to say.
And if you know me personally, you’re probably laughing right now because I’m a chatterbox. But when I peel back the top layer of that idea, what’s underneath is that I think I have nothing of value to say within my field.
Which is kind of silly, because I’m very good at what I do. I’ve been growing my career in small business administration and strategy for more than fifteen years. I observed the nitty gritty backend of daily operations in retail management roles for nearly fifteen years before that — and before you do the math, I’m 45.
I’ve learned some things. I have opinions.
And I’m guessing I’m not the only one who has talked themselves out of showing up. Who has sat on an idea, a service, an offer, or an opinion because some quiet voice said who are you to say that?
So I’m resolving to show up — because I do have valuable insights and information to share. You’ll find them here every month.
If something here resonates, drop it in the comments or reach out to me at candi@indieedgellc.com. Tell me, what’s the one thing about running your business that keeps you up at night? Where are you standing in your own way?

I’m Candi Barbagallo, founder of Indie Edge.
If you’re looking for someone to help you get things done, let’s talk.
